How I think the paladin nerf should have been

As some of you may know a few days ago the holy paladin got nerfed quite badly, mainly in terms of healing capability (around 30% less heals) and I completely understand why they nerfed the class, but I don't get how they nerfed us.

We are currently still quite OP in PvP due to our defensive abilities (even after the nerf sacred shield is still pretty OP), however the nerf made sure that paladins are never going to be a good choice for healing raids as shamans can heal more in single target and aoe, druid also easily does this due to their aoe/hots.


My suggestions: Nerf our defensive abilities more (sacred shield) & our armor so that we are still nerfed in terms of pvp and buff our heals to what they were so that we have a chance of getting in T3 raids.

Agreed with most cases, sacred shield still takes a buttload to drop and in PvE we're less than competitive, all we got going for us is JoL which a prot paladin could easily provide

Lol no, they just stopped a talent abuse. Which will happen to shamans at some point. And your solution to nerfing defensive talents will piss off prot paladins.. Who don't need the nerf. They really is no cure to paladins, and if there is it's in our cast times.

Prot paladins don't need a nerf? They're overpowered as fuck and easily reach #1 dps in AC...

I think overpowered is a bit of an overstatement for Prot paladins in PvE... Since your topic is mainly talking about Pve content. Also I don't agree with your suggestion to nerf Holy Paladins.

Why not? Even in 2v1 holy paladins are still really op in pvp, sacred shield absorbs way too much even after the nerf.

Why? Because I think the problem is more about resilience then our abilitys. And if your worried about T3 content, don't forget the utility we bring to raids. Meaning just don't sell yourself short for pve, Holy paladins seem fine and if there is a problem with them in T3 I'm sure it will addressed.

Resilience isn't really a big deal at the moment.
