To me, this doesn't look right. I believe you should take the T10.5 stats and round them out to this:
And since we're level 100, instead of 80, the gear stats need to be higher. I believe if you multiplied that stats by 1.75 and round them off, would make perfect stats for the T1. For armor, after you multiplied it by 1.75, divide it by half.
Now for the next tier. Currently the stats are:
Forget them. All you need to do is add 150 to each stat so the T2 should now look like this (Armor add 100):
And do that for all the tiers to come. This will allow more tiers without making players over powered.
Now, for PvP Gear. We're pretty much doing the same thing. S8 DK Chest stats http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=51413:
(Not showing Wretched WoW S1 Chest) Round the stats from the S8 off:
Multiply them by 1.75 and divide armor by half:
Now for the S2, add 50 to resil, 100 to armor, and 150 to the rest.
Then the same to the next seasons.
And that's my thought on how gear should be made. If you need any other example, such as a Tank, or Mage, or whatever, just ask.
Stats:
- 2756 Armor
- 193 Strength
- 209 Stamina
- 122 Critical Strike Rating
- 106 Armor Penetration
Wretched WoW T1
Stats:
- 1600 Armor
- 650 Strength
- 900 Stamina
- 99 Armor Penetration
- 651 Critical Strike Rating

My math should be dead on, but correct me if I'm not. Armor may need to be reduced a little more. This will work on ANY gear.

definitely agree with what hes pushing forward. take the already balanced stats of the 3.3.5 patch and just upgrade it. Armor and armor pen will have to be regulated along with resilience but that would be the most simple and realistic way to balance the gear. But let us not forget its not just gear that needs balancing, classes are still being scaled.

Arp isn't that big of a deal as long as it's kept down with the other stats. I've done DB work for years, and I love making retail like gear.

I'd assume since they're so far into the current build that it would take a lot of time away from updating content to overhaul the gear system. I'm sure the idea has been thrown around but if not, it is now. Like I tell pretty much everyone, its a small team, they're working diligently to get constant updates and content coming out, whilst at the same time balancing.

Haha, if you think you have something to bring to the staff then you may as well try, whats the worst that could happen? Maybe avenger will nerf your main into the ground, but that's not so bad.

While your scaling would work to keep the low rate stats 3.3.5 feel you also need to think about all the other things that woul require change, such as all the mobs band raid boss encounters to fit the newly stated players. Again while your idea is fairly good the work behind it would basically be a server revamp.

I think it's something to keep in mind on a test server, with a full team contributing. We all get burned out after a while. It would take so much time to revamp. We're talking literally changing every single boss, every single piece of gear with stats on it, every event. It's impractical now, but definitely something to look at when there is a full staff prepared to take that step.
